Going to post this in the beginning but it seems that ViZ cut out some of the character art that was in the book. Found some on the TG wiki.
The author here can’t write women to save his life. All of them are somehow evil or simpering.
These stories would have been better if all of them didn’t involve some kind of violence on some part. They all could have been slice of life, but no we have to throw in random violence to spice the story up. The last story is just written so bad that some parts don’t even make sense. It was also about a guy that spends 5 seconds on screen before he’s killed too.

Overall the whole idea that Ghouls are somehow sympathetic characters is killed when the examples of them we have are viole...

TRIGGER WARNING: This book contains rape, threats of rape, racism and homophobia and thus I will be highlighting them

So if you love racist as hell books like “The Continent” have we got a book for you! Also probably want to go read one of those 5★ reviews.
First of all we have Earth Walkers who are the black, maybe dark skinned Asian people based on the fact that “but her eyes were wrong. They were bigger and almost almond-shaped.” Presumable “almost” meaning that her Companion father helped her to get more “normal” white people eyes.
Then there are the Companions. The Tree Tribe. These are the blond haired, blue eyed white people that are “WISE AND JUST” even though they enslave and murder the Earth Walkers and call them Scratchers...

So this book is slightly better than My Favorite Song ~The Silver Siren~, the other Cross Infinite Worlds title. By that I mean that Luca isn’t a raging misogynist. That being said it’s still a typical shoujo story where the main character tries to do something, often helping her friends, and gets admonished by the males in the story that she should just be a passive doll for saving where she’ll then feel that it’s all her fault that everyone is in trouble because of her.

Whelp, besides the force “marriage”/bonding of Yuki and Luca where she has no idea what it means to be bonded or even what’s going on, we have many nice scenes where she want to do something to save people and after she save a small boy towards the end ...

I really wanted to like this book more being a shoujo titles, however as usual it’s the shitty shoujo titles with the highly misogynistic men that get localized.

First of all they don’t use the honorifics and in this story it’s highly relied upon. People of the same age aren’t going to call each other “Miss” and ‘-san’ does not equal ‘miss/ms.’ It’s not the same thing no matter how many translators want to scream it is. So of course we get “Lady Leise” instead of Liese-sama and “master Laut” who is only 10.

As for the story itself, this book is really more about Rag and his shitty man quest to be the most asshole character ever...

TL;DR: Dumpster Fire This book is a dumpster fire.

So let’s have an author that doesn’t understand sex, gender and sexuality write a story that involves ALL of those and fuck it up so spectacularly. Add to that a homophobic soldier where being gay is supposedly OK? and wow.

So the Rounds are bigender, which shows the lack of understanding about what gender is. They love as male and are loved as female, thus the bigender. Yes women are passive and males are active. You have that pile of misogyny going on here. Next you have Rounds that want to be Unigender, who sabotage everything...

EVEN A MACHINE HAS ROUTINELY BEEN SEXUALIZED BY MEN AND USED AS A GO TO FOR HOW WOMEN SHOULD BE.

TL;DR: This isn’t some kind of thought provoking book. It’s a typical otaku wank fantasy light novel where all the women are sexualized, android maids think sexual assault is ok, and did I mention all the fetishes.

Here’s all my updates if you just want to read the highlights: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1718601690

Let us get a good look at the Japanese cover off to the right because that really tells us more about the book that the kind of esoteric cover that ViZ gave us. You can seen the random skin showing out of the outfit. This was chosen by and otaku programmer that is into “clumsy android girls”...

So I’m a bit conflicted with this book as I really enjoyed it. It was well written in a style that focused on the the characters more than the tech and it really did feel like I was reading an episode of some SciFi TV show. So good job there. There was a paragraph at the start however the was throwing me off, but it seems she just ditched that style right then and just went into good writing.

48 Status updates….
It starts at page 21 and it goes till page 516.

The misogyny train in this fine literature is fully booked and not stopping till it reaches the other station.
WOOOO WOOOOOO
Women are only around as literal sex objects, towards the end it even describes an alarm voice as “attractive female” IT’S JUST A VOICE and finally the last sentence is of a naked woman.
Let’s not mention that Lala Sune and Kusko Al die for manpain and Amuro is the one that sends them to their grave because he can’t get a handle on his anger. Then the relationship with Char is just them pretty much hating each other because Amuro killed them.
THen their is Sayla Mass/Artesia Deikun that ...

I tried to keep up with this book after dropping the anime for similar reasons. But this just seems to be a really long economics lesson with the word “BOOBS” and other sexualizing bit added in at times to keep the presumed male readers interested.
Also I think the author says that slavery is inevitable which is bullshit.

This book was first put on the web it seems :|
So for the first 80% of the book you only really get tiny little snippets of the blatant misogyny that gets dropped in the last 20% of the book. That is if you can get past the whole onii-san in love with imouto-chan and it does say they are blood related so this isn’t one of the step sibling situations you see in most ecchi and hentai stories.
What’s interesting is this book remarks upon how short the skirts are. It isn’t the first thing I’ve seen to do this, but is it really lost on the author that it’s the author/creator that made the skirts short in the first place...
