Paper Cuts Podcast – Moon Chosen

I got to participate once again in the Paper Cuts Podcast, where Paige from The YA Kitten, Sparky (Paul) from Fangs for the Fantasy and the rest of the Papercuts Crew (Cyna, Ollie and Robin) suffered through read this pile of shit fine example of literature to come together and rant discuss how garbage excellent this book is.

Take a look, it’s in a book on a webpage: Paper Cuts Episode: 53

TRIGGER WARNING: This book contains rape, threats of rape, racism and homophobia and thus I will be highlighting them

So if you love racist as hell books like “The Continent” have we got a book for you! Also probably want to go read one of those 5★ reviews.
First of all we have Earth Walkers who are the black, maybe dark skinned Asian people based on the fact that “but her eyes were wrong. They were bigger and almost almond-shaped.” Presumable “almost” meaning that her Companion father helped her to get more “normal” white people eyes.

The second book in the series continues the gross misogyny, homophobia, racism, abelism and everything else bad that you can cram in a written format.

As for the story itself. It’s also a continuation of what was started in book one and now gets into the meat and potatoes of what’s going on. The title of course tells you what you find out in this book, which should be blatant from the first book.

Overall the book spends too much time driving all over the road with concerns about Heath, to which I was just hoping he’d just up and die. He doesn’t, unfortunately in this book.

What’s there to day. This book is terrible (and has a lot of asides). Totally delves into the (view spoiler) slurs for pretty much every sentence and every time Aphrodite shows up.
Also the Zoey is s huge asshole by forceably taking over the Dark Daughters because she feels they are wrong. She doesn’t tell Nerferet, nor use the chain of command.
The other characters are all cardboard and nothing but tropes, and while there is a hint of something good there, it’s buried under so much shit you’ll take forever to get to it.
